Your challenges

  • Whether you’re a fashion brand or a textile distribution player, your success depends on the control of your operations, the reliability of deliveries in the network and the buying experience of your customers.
  • While the digitalization of consumption patterns has led to new customer decision journeys, both in-store and online purchases require robust traceability throughout the supply chain.
  • The Electronic Product Code (EPC) is encoded in the RFID yarn, which is then embedded at source into the garment. Since it is non-detachable and durable, each item is authenticated, and its digital identity can always be reliably connected to the cloud. This greatly enhances the benefits of using RFID.

Our solution

  • Primo1D offers you a UHF RFID wire tag (Gen2 V2 standard) in a textile ribbon that is embedded in the garment during the production process.  The embedded RFID tag transforms the pieces in your collection into connected clothing, which opens the door to new use cases and business models.
  • The tag is so discreet that it is effectively imperceptible. This in turn creates a much more natural fitting experience (whether it’s in-store or in-home)  and contributes to much greater fluidity at checkout.

The benefits

Omnichannel

The unique digital identifier embedded in the garment during production guarantees real-time information on the status of each item throughout the supply chain to the point of sale, facilitating inventory and restocking. Omnichannel marketing demands precise traceability for the brand, the distributor and the end customer. “Buy online, pick-up in store” (bopis) or ship-from-store deliveries are at the heart of these strategies. Primo1d’s RFID thread ensures that each physical product is forever associated with its digital twin.

With an embedded RFID tag, returns to stores or warehouses are faster, easier and contactless. Relabeling can be avoided and labor savings optimized.

Loss prevention / electronic article surveillance (EAS)

The RFID thread gives you the power to effectively combat inventory shrinkage. Beyond its role as a digital identifier, it can also be leveraged in theft prevention: not only is it imperceptible but it’s also nondetachable.

Of course, ethical and regulatory considerations have to be taken into account in order to respect customer privacy.

Circular economy

Pieces of connected clothing combined with their digital twins can generate value throughout the product lifecycle. They enable, for example, new business models from rentals and second hand to recovery and recycling.

Primo1d’s RFID tag has the lowest carbon footprint on the market (since it contain no plastic), a clear benefit as the textile sector moves to a circular economy.
